Built for the business,
not just the backlog.
I'm Fredrik Adolfsson, a senior software engineer in Stockholm, Sweden. A decade building products end to end — streaming at TV4, telecom at Three, and five years at Mynewsdesk, now tech lead for its business systems. I read the business as closely as the codebase.
What I'm good at.
Business-critical systems
Billing, subscriptions, payments, and the integrations a company runs on — the parts where a bug costs real money. I make them correct, observable, and boring in the best way.
Data into decisions
Turning scattered product, sales and billing data into models a business can steer by. I built Mynewsdesk's warehouse on ClickHouse and dbt — down to churn risk per customer.
Full-stack, top to bottom
Rails and Node on the back, React and TypeScript on the front, ClickHouse and dbt for the data, Kubernetes underneath. I'll own a feature from the database schema to the deploy.
Engineering that gets the business
I weigh trade-offs in revenue and risk, not just story points, and build the thing the business actually needs. It's the part I enjoy most — and where I add the most.
I run the whole thing
Give me a problem and I'll own it — not just the code. Tech lead, scrum master, project manager, whatever the work needs. It rarely matters what the task is; I take it and drive it to done.
A decade shipping software.
Pragmatic, fluent in the product and the business behind it — and I ship.
Joined to move a legacy product to greenfield, and have done a bit of everything since. Now tech lead for the business systems — billing, subscriptions, CRM and external integrations — and I built the company's data warehouse on ClickHouse and dbt.
One of three partners. Senior engineering across the stack — and building Debitero, our billing-automation product.
My own company: consulting, my one-third stake in Veltare, and where I back my own ideas — some land, some don't.
Let's talk.
I'm not chasing work — but I'm always up for a hard problem, a sharp team, or a conversation about one. LinkedIn is the fastest way to reach me.
